LED-Arthropoda

Das Projekt quantifiziert Auswirkungen von künstlichem Nachtlicht auf Bodenarthropoden (bodenbewohnende Gliederfüsser). Die Ergebnisse ermöglichen es, Herausforderungen im Zusammenhang mit der Aussenbeleuchtung und deren Einflüsse auf die Nachtbiodiversität zu entschärfen.

Social-ecological networks

We investigate the interactions between ecological and social networks of urban green areas and derive a fully operationalized social-ecological network based on individual, empirically validated social and ecological networks as a basis to evaluate transformation pathways related to biodiversity.

Opportunities for biodiversity in sustainable cities, the Urban Living Lab in Viererfeld Bern

Urbanisation is a main driver of biodiversity and ecological change, but how the process affects biodiversity is not well understood. This project on urban ecology monitors the impact of urbanisation and establishes an Urban Living Lab (ULL) for sustainable city development.

More Trees – Less Biodiversity?

In this WSL Biodiversity Centre Postdoc project, we will investigate the relationships between woody encroachment, habitat diversity and plant species diversity. Modelled vegetation height based on historical aerial stereo images, covering 40 years of woody encroachment and forest expansion, will be combined with existing biodiversity data. This allows for a spatially explicit assessment of the relationship between woody encroachment and the dynamics of habitat and plant species diversity.

ALANex

ALANeX is an inter- and transdisciplinary project that integrates benefits of LED technology and practitioner's experiences to develop future lighting transformation pathways and guide-lines for LED outdoor lighting systems based on sound scientific evidence.

Night Light

Die Versuche leisten einen Beitrag zum Verständnis des Effektes von Lichtverschmutzung auf die Natur. Der wissenschaftliche Versuch über die Auswirkungen verschiedener Lampeneigenschaften (Lichtfarbe, Gehäusedesign, Intensität) soll helfen, Nachtlicht nachhaltiger zu gestalten.

Nightscapes 2019

Wir untersuchen die relativen Auswirkungen verschiedener spektraler LED-Strassenleuchten und bedarfsorientierter Beleuchtungssysteme auf acht Insekten- und Fledermaus-Artengruppen.

The spatio-temporal DGVM LPJ-GM is extended with modules for dynamics and spread of interacting species and tested in case studies with different interactors

CLIMASTEPPE - Klimafreundliche Landnutzung in der Russischen Trockensteppe

In diesem Projekt werde wir in Zusammenarbeit mit Partnern aus Russland, Deutschland und der Slowakei untersuchen, wie unter den sich verändernden klimatischen Bedingungen die Landnutzung der Russischen Steppe optimiert werden kann.

Zukünftige Chancen der erneuerbaren Energien

Die Produktion von erneuerbaren Energien wird in der Schweiz immer wichtiger. Durch eine zukünftige Veränderungen in der Landnutzung, wie Zunahmen von Siedlungen oder Wald, entstehen neue Chancen und Risiken für die verschiedenen Energieträger.

BioScene: Biodiversitätsschutz und Agrarstrukturwandel

The overall aim of BioScene, an interdisciplinary EU-research project with participants from seven countries, is to investigate the implications of agricultural restructuring and decline for biodiversity conservation in Europe's mountain areas.
