The WSL Biodiversity Center is excited to announce its third “WSL Biodiversity Symposium” to be held on 3 December. The topic of this year is biodiversity and communication.
Biodiversity communication is urgent amid the global nature crisis. Yet, it remains an elusive task for researchers and practitioners. Scientific data is often complex, and the messages about biodiversity don’t stick. How do we transform scientific knowledge into compelling stories that resonate with and drive action among the public, policymakers, and stakeholders? How can we tailor our communication strategies to different audiences? How do we weave biodiversity into sectoral policies and across all levels of government?
In our third WSL Biodiversity Symposium, we are bringing together three outstanding speakers—an environmental social scientist, a cantonal scientific associate, and an ecologist—to share their expertise on this topic:
- Viktoria Cologna (Postdoctoral Researcher & Early-Career Researcher, Collegium Helveticum)
-
Bianca Saladin (Scientific Associate Kanton Zürich)
- Bernhard Schmid (Prof. em. University of Zurich & Adjunct Professor, Peking University)
