Research

  • Modeling of snow micro-mechanics

This research is a part of the SNSF project “Unifying metamorphism, heat, and mechanics for microstructure based snow modeling”. The main goal of the SNSF project is to unify the parameters obtained from the 3D snow model which helps to understand the snowpack evolution over time (1D snow model).

In my part of research regarding snow micro-mechanics, I will be investigating microstructure elasto-viscoplastic behavior of snow under low strain rates. This research would be further extended to new snow and depth hoar.
