New Snow Map

Each day at 9.30 am the New Snow Map, showing the amount of new snow in the previous 24 hours, and a map showing the total amount of new snow during the last 3 days are made available. The interpolations and the assignment of the data to the cross-hatched, standard new snow depth bands (0 - 1 cm, 1 - 10 cm, 10 - 25 cm, 25 - 50 cm) take place automatically; no checks or corrections are made. In the event of rain at lower altitudes, this can give rise to a false picture. To aid interpretation, the actual values measured at station altitudes are therefore indicated as well.
