Danger MapThe danger levels
announced in the National Avalanche Bulletin are plotted on a map for the
entire Swiss Alpine region. The five levels of the European Avalanche Danger
Scale are shown in colour or with cross-hatching. The particularly endangered
parts of the terrain are also shown. This map is available shortly after the
text of the Bulletin is published, at about 5.30 pm. In typical "springtime situations", that is on days when the avalanche danger increases significantly during the day, the map accompanying the National Avalanche Bulletin (and the Regional Avalanche Bulletin) show the more favourable morning situation, and a second map shows the less favourable situation and the increasing wet snow avalanche danger as the day progresses. |
