National Avalanche BulletinThe National Avalanche Bulletin is written in German. It is translated into French, Italian and English within one hour. It is distributed through the following channels: Internet www.slf.ch Telephone Telephone number 187 (CHF 0.50 per call and CHF 0.50 per minute; German taped message from 5.00 pm, other languages from about 6.30 pm). When calling from abroad, dial +41 848 800 187. SMS „SLFSOMMER“ If you wish to be notified of the next avalanche bulletin via SMS, please send an SMS with the message START SLF SOMMER to tel. no. 9234. You can cancel the service anytime by sending the message STOP SLF SOMMER. An SMS costs 20 Rappen. MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) The national and regional avalanche bulletins can be ordered by MMS (danger map and text). Two options are available: - While listening to the avalanche bulletin on the speed dial number 187 (CHF 0.50 per call and minute), say “MMS” to receive a copy of the avalanche bulletin (danger map and text) on your mobile phone at a cost of CHF 0.50 per MMS. - If you send an SMS with the corresponding key word (see below) to the speed dial number 162, you will receive the desired avalanche bulletin as an MMS (CHF 0.50 per MMS).
