What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and enables you to receive updates from a variety of websites in an uncomplicated and efficient manner. RSS automatically sends you published news items and displays the content immediately on your screen. All you need to display the news is software called an RSS reader.

Reading options:

  • You can install on your computer and use a separate news reader application. Free software is available, for example, at download.com.
  • You can use the reader functionality of programs that are already installed on your computer. The most recent versions of popular e-mail programs (e.g. Outlook, Thunderbird) and web browsers (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera and Safari) have RSS readers integrated as standard.
  • You can use a personalised website, such as iGoogle, Windows Live, Fastladder or GoogleReader.
